The Sonoma Valley Chorale |
The area in and around the lush, eight-acre Sonoma Plaza—a National Historic Landmark—offers the perfect setting for many activities, including annual festivals, weekly farmers’ markets, and public concerts. Meanwhile, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art stages world-class exhibitions. Galleries, studios, wineries, and restaurants showcase the works of regional artists. The 150-member Sonoma Valley Chorale and other local musicians and theater troupes perform regularly in venues around the Valley.
The Sonoma Community Center,
built in 1916 as the Sonoma Grammar School, serves as a cultural focal
point, offering programs in fine arts, music, and theater, as well as
affordable rental space for education and community services. The
historic Sebastiani Theatre shows first-run movies and stages live performances. Infineon Raceway
draws NASCAR and other motor sports fans from around the country. Many
of the area’s approximately 100 non-profit organizations focus on the
arts, historic preservation, gardening, and travel.
